Cardboard Dreams

The new CineVeliz feature is complete... "Cardboard Dreams"

Shortly after completion of the film, our mission for distribution began.

We now have acquired representation by Ostrow and Company and are on our way to the Toronto Film Market in September and then to the American Film Market in Santa Monica this November.

We are now raising funds to pay for the marketing and promotion involved with selling the film to a potential distributor. The money will go to prints, ads, screeners, booths, etc. This is a great challenge, but with the backing from a producer's representative, good promotional material, and one last strong push, we are confident that we can get our film sold and distributed throughout the U.S. and beyond.

We ask that you please join us in this last effort no matter how big or small your contribution may be. Thanks for all the support from our San Antonio community and friends, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Director and Writer

OLDER POSTINGS:

After many months of planning and crafting ideas, the CV team formally engaged their new feature film "Cartoneo y Nopalitos" (Cardboard Dreams) at the Director's cut Screening of La Tragedia de Macario in September of this year (2009). The director himself, Pablo Veliz, made the announcement that the team's objective would be to create a project that, similarly to their first film "La Tragedia", would touch move and inspire the lives of the audience. The script follows the stories across the world of a young woman Carla, an immigrant from Mexico; Krupa, an immigrant from India; and a couple from Kansas who cannot create a family together. Shortly after the announcement, The CV team began the casting process from coast to coast. Pablo led casting in Los Angeles, while Victor and Corando held auditions in Texas, shortly followed by Marissa Diaz who held a casting session in New York.

By Thanksgiving, the director and casting director had made the final choices for the principle cast of CYN. Today, the film's leading roles are to be interpreted by Pedro Castañeda, Jorge Rodriguez Jr., Carla Veliz, Tom Lagleder, Nova Aragón, Lavar Veale, Brandi Blevins, and introducing Mayra de La Garza and Angelica Vargas.

Although second unit photography has already begun in Bhopal India, Principal photography in Texas is scheduled to begin on February 5th, 2010. Leading the team will be director Pablo Veliz, Director of Photography Tom Nador, and Producers Victor Agustin and Dago Patlan. One of the new and exciting technical prospects is that the film's DP will photograph using the RED 1 camera system, along with his super-speeds and years of DP experience.

Stay tuned for more updated as they develop, for now, you can expect to see the CV team and cast rehearsing and preparing for the challenge ahead.
